Dr. James W. Cooper, Jr. is an Associate Professor in the College of Business at the University of Illinois Chicago with a Ph.D. in Organizational Development, and pursuing a second Ph.D. in Learning Sciences.
His research investigates how African American students form and sustain academic and racialized identities in pursuit of excellence. He also specializes in leadership development, structural improvisational learning and teaching, and computer simulations.
As founder of SILT-AI, Dr. Cooper unites decades of executive and academic leadership with a mission to redefine how learning and AI empowers education and workforce development.
Ken Cygan brings over 20 years of expertise in organizational development, strategic planning, and leading complex transformation initiatives. Most recently, he led a portfolio of EdTech innovations at Kaplan, driving impactful change in digital learning experiences.
Previously, as Vice President of Global Project Management & Learning Enablement at Nielsen, Mr. Cygan received industry recognition for establishing a global learning capability that delivered scalable solutions across diverse business units, geographies, and cultures, enabling thousands of internal and field operations associates.
Mr. Cygan has been honored with both PMO of the Year Finalist and Project of the Year award recognition from the Project Management Institute (PMI) for his leadership in developing high-impact project management office (PMO) frameworks. He holds a Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM) from Lewis University.
In his role as Chief Operating Officer at SILT-AI, Mr. Cygan is responsible for defining strategic direction, optimizing operational processes, and establishing key performance metrics to ensure the successful execution of the company’s vision.
